What if the “bardo” isn’t just something that happens after death but something happening all the time?
In this episode of The Bardo Podcast, comedian Marc Salmon is joined by Buddhist practitioners Steve Todd and Cesare Saguato for a conversation exploring the idea of the bardo, often associated with death, but also something that may be present in everyday moments of change, uncertainty and transition.
Drawing on Tibetan Buddhist teachings, including The Tibetan Book of the Dead and the Six Bardos, the conversation explores how these ideas might relate to daily life, from emotional reactions and small frustrations to larger experiences like loss, illness and letting go.
A thoughtful and grounded conversation about death, impermanence, awareness and how we might live more fully in the in-between.
Topics include:
The bardo as everyday experience
Death, impermanence and change
The Tibetan Book of the Dead and the Six Bardos
Consciousness, mind and awareness
Letting go and emotional reactivity
Compassion, karma and responding to difficulty
Meditation and everyday practice
The “in-between” as an opportunity for transformation
